Bush Walking

If you fancy your nature raw and unspoiled, Narooma on the NSW South Coast is a gift from God. To your east you have the beach and shoreline, touched by nothing more menacing than the waves of the South Pacific or a snared fish. To the west pristine forests and parks stand guard over a trove of native flora and fauna - bushland tailored for a tranquil, reflective bush walk.

Bushwalking has become very popular over the past few years and Narooma offers some terrific bush tracks for you to follow if you are that way inclined.  One of the most popular walks is from the base of Mount Dromedary (Goolaga) to the top.  It is not a long walk, but it is a hard one that will test you all the way up.  Once you get there you will glad you stuck with it.

Narooma is surrounded by native bush and most of it is accessible to the public.  While you are out there you will see some amazing wildlife such as Emus, Snakes, Possums, Koala Bears, Kangaroos as well as an abundance of wild birds - Wedge tailed Eagle, Sea Eagle, Kingfisher, Bell Birds and much more.

Snakes are a big worry when bushwalking so take a stick and a first aid kit with you.  The most common snake around these parts is the Red Belly Black but we also have quite a few Brown Snakes which are deadly so do not disturb them if you see one.
